It's unfortunate that occasionally we have to be the bearer of bad news.

BoXXi, one of our most talented skinners will be leaving the scene for a while.

I'm sure he would have prefered a quiet exit but that would be a waste. It's hard to believe that he'd not even used a PC until a couple of years ago. Since then his work has consistently shone (https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?AuthorID=194), including winning the DBS competition.

I have only recently got to know BoXXi, but in this short time I have not only come to appreciate his work but discover he is a truly decent and friendly person. Crap words I know, but being a nice guy counts for a lot.

I would just like to take this opportunity to say thankyou to BoXXi. I will miss you and your work, and I hope it's not too long before we see you around here again.

Good luck and all my best wishes,

_Martin_

I don't know BoXXi, but I know what it is like when you have to disappear for a while. I only did it for a few weeks I've since cut back my online time instead of a total departure

I hope that for whatever reasons BoXXi is leaving, he makes it back soon. From what I've seen (especially on this site) he is indeed a good guy and a valuable member of the community.

Because skinning should be fun

I first met BoXXi (Bryan Cook) several months ago when I wrote to him to thank him for his beautiful wallpapers. He wrote me back and we began a correspondence.
During the time since, Bryan never ceased to amaze me with the brilliance of his art and the greatness of his spirit. Knowing him has been a priviledge.
BoXXi only came to the community lately, but he nevertheless was more than willing to contribute as a Wizop. He helped everyone that he could.
BoXXi is not taking a vacation. A combination of health and economic concerns is keeping him away.
Our site will be poorer for his abscence.
BoXXi, I am going to miss you.

I have always been one of the many who enjoyed your work, personality, and general aid you gave to this site and it's users. I am also one of the many who will miss you greatly. I still laugh to this day about your many Anti-XP jokes and your presidential race ..."to get rid of the XP crap". You and some others were what made this site what it is, gave it it's own unique personality, added humor, and made it an enjoyable place to stay. Thanks for all you've done, we all will miss you, good luck, and I hope you are back soon.

I've sent him emails to keep him up todate on the guitar and other DBS goodies. Not sure now if they are getting through. If anyoen talks to him, tell him i speaking to Aezra Records every few days to find out the status of the guitar. Seems the boys in Deep Blue Something are rehearsing for a gig in the Winter Olympics and have been a little slow in mailing back the guitar. But i have been told that Aezra is on the case and we should have it sent out soon. To the other winner the same thing goes as the band signed a bunch of stuff (CDs, EPKs etc). So be patient and they stuff will be there soon.

Boxxi, you are definitely going to be missed around here. Just so you know, your position as a wizop will remain so when you do return you can hop right back into the seat and moderate those walls!

Good luck, Boxxi, with whatever is happening to you.
The atmosphere here is heavy, can someone tell us what is realy happening with our BoXXi?
on Jan 23, 2002
Suffice to say that skinning isn't the highest priority at the moment. No more details required We just hope he will be back soon
